Post GA-MA78GM-US2H With working r8168 driver
MB: GA-MA78GM-US2H
BIOS: F3
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5000+ (65W).
NIC1 : onboard r8168/8111C Working.
VT: Working
NIC2 : PCI 8169 Working.
Chipset: AMD G780 Working
SATA: Working
SATA RAID (not tested)
USB: Working

Also tested and fully working (Inclusive of onboard NIC):
Intel D945GCLF2 (VT not working :-)
Gigabyte M61PME-S2 (Everything working)
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H (Everything working)

r8168: I have made a working driver for this chipset and I hope I will be able to commit the source to open-vdrivers soon (But no reply yet).

In the mean time use the attached oem.tgz file if you have r8168 NIC on your MB.

Regards
Jens

The file is apparently too big to be uploaded here.

So here it is:

www.icjacobsen.com/dld/oem.tgz

I get the generic "Unable to find a supported device to write VMWare ESX Server 3i version 3.5.0 image to". Im running BIOS version F3 with a Phenom II x4 920 Processor. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I forget to mention.

I tried going through the bios and setting the sata controller to run in AHCI mode as Native IDE didnt work out for me and have the same results.

ALT+F1 and doing a fdisk -l fetches no results as well. The northbridge in my manual lists as an AMD 780G as opposed to G780 if that matters. The southbridge is an AMD SB700.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for replying.

By using the lspci -v method, Ive found:

IDE interface Mass Storage Controller: ATI Technologies Inc
Class 0101: 1002:439c

ESXi doesn't have an ATI driver. http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/Hardware_support.php

Is it a Gigabyte GA MB that you're using?
